Where to Find an Alpha Lucario in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokemon Legends: Arceus took place in the early days of the Pokemon universe when humans and Pokemon did not live in harmony.

In Jubilife Village, the player will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team) as part of the Survey Corps.

This game is set in the Hisui area, later known as Sinnoh in the modern Pokemon universe. To complete Hisui’s first Pokédex, the player must catch every type of Pokémon found here.

There are Pokemon in the Hisui region known as Alpha Pokemon that are bigger than their regular counterparts, have vivid red eyes, and are dripping with Wild Might, which raises their stats and battling abilities.

This guide will teach you where to find an Alpha Lucario in Pokemon Legends: Arceus!

Alpha Pokemon

An Alpha Pokemon always has a greater level than its regular counterparts. The only two that are not hostile are Mantyke and Mantine, and they never flee when confronted by the player (except when the type of Alpha Pokemon appears during a certain time of day or if a Space-Time Distortion appears around them).

An Alpha Pokemon will roar and emit a shockwave when it is near the player. If the player gets close enough, the shockwave could make them stagger and knock them to the ground.

The player can catch Alpha Pokemon, regardless of level, by battling the Alpha Pokemon before tossing a Poke Ball. If their current obedience level is substantially lower than the level of the Alpha Pokemon, the player won’t be able to catch them without battling.

If their current obedience level is substantially lower than the level of the Alpha Pokemon, the player won’t be able to catch them without battling.

However, the player can avoid having to combat them by sneaking up on Alpha Pokemon in tall grass or using stealth items before tossing a Poke Ball their way.

By performing Research Tasks and speaking with Professor Laventon in any of the Base Camps, the player can improve their Star Rank, also called Survey Corps rank, if they are having trouble catching an Alpha Pokemon.

In the game, there are three different kinds of Alpha Pokemon: fixed Alpha Pokemon, which always spawn in the same areas and have a fixed level; random Alpha Pokemon, which may only appear after the player calms the area’s agitated Noble Pokemon; and Alpha Pokemon in Massive Mass Outbreaks, which may appear as a second wave in the same place as a Mass Outbreak’s first wave.

Because the other two types of Alpha Pokemon are completely random, we will only look at fixed Alpha Pokemon, specifically an Alpha Lucario.

Alpha Lucario

Lucario is a Fighting and Steel type Aura Pokemon resembling a canine with black and blue fur. It has a spike on the back of each of its arms and its chest, a blue tail, appendages hanging down at the back of its head, a long snout, long ears, red eyes, a torso with a cream color, and thighs that are colored blue which makes it look like it is wearing shorts. Lucario’s Pokedex entry in the game says that Lucario can emit energy waves called “aura,” which it can control precisely and use to sense beings from far away.

An Alpha Lucario can be found south of Icebound Falls (southwest of Whiteout Valley or southeast of Avalanche Slopes) at the top of the frozen falls in the Alabaster Icelands.

Lucario can be found in these locations at all times of the day but only during a blizzard. The Alpha Lucario found in this location is a Level 70 Pokemon.

It is suggested to use tall grass and/or other stealth items, such as Smoke Bombs, to creep up behind the Alpha Pokemon and then, to catch it off guard, throw the player’s Pokemon or Poke Ball onto its back.

If you want food to distract Lucario before you catch or battle it, it likes Springy Mushrooms, Dazzling Honey, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans.

Also, it is important to mention, if you plan on battling it first before catching it, that Lucario, again, is a Fighting and Steel-type Pokemon, which means it has a weakness to Fighting-type, Fire-type, and Ground-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Dark-type, a Dragon-type, Grass-type, Ice-type, Normal-type, Steel-type, and especially Bug-type and Rock-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Poison-type moves (no effect).

Aside from the Alpha Lucario found in the location mentioned above, the regular, non-alpha Lucario can also be found in other parts of the Alabaster Icelands (in Icebound Falls).

Aside from that, Lucario can also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Cobalt Coastlands and the Alabaster Icelands.

Now that the player has caught an Alpha Lucario, the player can try to use the Alpha Lucario to complete other requests, missions, or Arceus’ task for the player, which is to catch ‘em all!
