In Destiny 2, players earn ranks in several progression systems, including the Infamy rank. This system is associated with playing in Gambit playlists, and increasing your Infamy rank results in several rewards. However, you’ll eventually reach the highest level and must perform a reset.

How to Reset Infamy in Destiny 2

Resetting your Infamy rank is beneficial, as it lets you earn more levels and obtain even more rewards. If you’re unsure how to reset your Infamy rank, you’ve come to the right place.

Infamy Ranks

The system has sixteen Infamy Ranks, and players rank up by earning rank points. Here are the ranks and the points required to obtain them:

  • Guardian I: 0
  • Guardian II: 250
  • Guardian III: 600
  • Brave I: 1,000
  • Brave II: 1,450
  • Brave III: 1,950
  • Heroic I: 2,500
  • Heroic II: 3,100
  • Heroic III: 3,750
  • Fabled I: 4,500
  • Fabled II: 5,350
  • Fabled III: 6,350
  • Mythic I: 7,500
  • Mythic II: 8,800
  • Mythic III: 10,300
  • Legend: 12,000
a1 3

Upon reaching Legend, players get Max Rank, requiring 15,000 rank points. It’s also at this point players can perform an Infamy Rank reset. After resetting, you can progress up from Guardian I again as often as possible within a season.

Resetting Your Infamy Rank

Resetting your Infamy rank is very simple. Here’s all you need to do:

  1. Reach Max rank.
    a2 5
  2. Head to the Tower.
    a4 7
  3. Speak to the Drifter.
    a5 4
  4. Claim the Ascendant Shard or Exotic Engram from him.
    a6 2
  5. Go back to farming Gambit missions.
    a8 1

As long as you play Gambit missions frequently, you’ll gain ranks quickly. Infamy rank resets won’t go away after a season ends. It is a permanent statistic. This number will be significant for redeeming certain rewards.

Infamy Rank Rewards

Other than getting a Gambit engram each time you rank up, resetting your rank will give you some unique rewards. Here they are:

  • Trust Hand Cannon at first Infamy rank reset.
    c1 2
  • Bad Omens Rocket Launcher at second Infamy rank reset.
    c2 1
  • Furtive Ghost Shell and Ludomaniacal Emblem at third Infamy rank reset.
    c3 2
  • Bygones Kinetic Pulse Rifle, not tied to resets.
    c8 2
  • Distant Relation Solar Scout Rifle, not tied to resets.
    c4 1

Legendary Engrams, Enhancement Prisms, and more rewards as rank-up rewards. Thus, it’s profitable to farm for Infamy rank points. Playing with a team is always great, but you can invade if no one’s available.

I Want My Rocket Launcher

Getting to Max Infamy rank isn’t a walk in the park if you’re unprepared. Thankfully, the resets transcend seasons, and you can earn the rewards at your own pace. While expert players can easily reset their ranks multiple times a season, it’s better to take it easy if you can’t afford to do so.

If you get a notification about Double Infamy Week, you should play as many Gambit missions as possible. The double points will save you plenty of time. The sooner you reset ranks, the quicker you get rewards.

How to Get Bastion in Destiny 2 https://playerassist.com/destiny-2-get-bastion/ https://playerassist.com/destiny-2-get-bastion/#respond Mon, 10 Jan 2022 17:27:00 +0000 https://playerassist.com/?p=210578

The Bastion is a Kinetic Fusion Rifle in Destiny 2, and with its Kinetic damage, you can hurt enemies through their elemental shields. To get this weapon, you’ll have to play through a series of quests before the firearm is yours. If you’re not sure about which ones they are, you’re in luck.

How to Get Bastion in Destiny 2

Since there are many enemies to kill and events to complete, getting the Bastion can be complicated. Fear not, as the process is thoroughly documented right here.

Talk to Saint-14

To unlock the Bastion, kick off the chain of events by finding Saint-14. Doing so will start the Memento quest, and its first stage is called “Spoken Word.” In this phase, your mission is to find Fallen Intel on the Tangled Shore.

Fallen Intel drops from slain Fallen Captains and Servitors. Make sure you bring your best gear and weapons to survive the army of foes.

Locate Spider on the Tangled Shore

After you get the Fallen Intel, find Spider and talk to him. You can complete some optional bounties he offers, but if you’re more interested in the Bastion, ignore those. Should you do them, don’t turn them in yet.

tangled shore

Spider will ask you to complete the “Spider’s Backroom Brawl” stage of the Memento quest. This step involves heading to the Empty Tank Lost Sector. Look for Aksiniks, Bound by Honor, in the Thieves’ Landing Lost Sector when you arrive.

spider

Aksiniks will be in the area’s final room. Take him out and return to Spider, who gives you the following steps to take.

aksinsk

A Strong Arm

This stage consists of a checklist of three tasks. They are:

  • Finish 10 of Spider’s Bounties
  • Kill 30 challenging enemies
  • Finish eight Public Events
bounty

Now, you might realize why we asked you not to turn in the bounties to Spider earlier. If you did, you’d have to complete 10 more. However, finishing a few beforehand and turning them in at this stage counts toward your progress.

In addition, Heroic Public Events fill the progress twice as fast. It’s the only way to speed things up since there are no shortcuts for the other two tasks.

heroic event

It’ll take some time as Public Events, and challenging enemies aren’t as easy to complete. Nevertheless, once you finish all three tasks, talk to Spider again.

Go to the Trapper’s Cave Grave Site

The gravesite is within the Four-Horn Gulch Lost Sector. You can find it under the waterfall after jumping down. It’s dark under the waterfall, which can lead to players missing the gravesite.

waterfall

After you visit the grave, go back to Spider and talk to him.

Fight Defiled Reysk, the Waning Light

At this point, you can start the “The Hallowed Lair, Memento” Strike. This Strike is a modified version of “The Hallowed Lair.” Unlike other missions, the game will let you match with fellow Guardians playing this Strike.

Compared to the standard Strike, most aspects are the same, except Defiled Reysk is the final boss of the mission alongside The Fanatic. It’s not a particularly difficult fight, and the help of allies makes it even easier.

defiled reysk

Head Back to the Tower

After defeating Defiled Reysk, the Waning Light, you can go back to The Tower. Go and talk to Saint-14 again, and you’ll receive the Bastion Exotic Fusion Rifle for your troubles.

bastion

Go to Monument to Lost Lights

Sadly, it’s impossible to play the Memento quest today. However, you can go to the Monument of Lost Lights and buy the Bastion there. It costs the following:

  • 100,000 Glimmer
  • One Exotic Cipher
  • 150 Etheric Spirals
  • One Ascendant Shard

Hope for Those in Darkness

The Bastion only deals Kinetic damage, which is helpful against elemental shields. Its Intrinsic Perk is Saint’s Fists, which lets players charge the Bastion before firing three spreads of Kinetic slugs. It’s better in PvP, though not entirely useless in PvE.

Do you like using this Fusion Rifle? What do you think will make it better in PvE? Let us know in the comments section below.

How to Reset Valor Rank in Destiny 2 https://playerassist.com/destiny-2-reset-valor-rank/ https://playerassist.com/destiny-2-reset-valor-rank/#respond Thu, 06 Jan 2022 18:08:00 +0000 https://playerassist.com/?p=212113

Two ranks ought to be familiar to Destiny 2 players, the Glory and Valor Ranks, with the latter connected to playing in the Crucible. By climbing and resetting Valor Ranks, players get access to some attractive rewards.

How to Reset Valor Rank in Destiny 2

If you’re not sure how resetting Valor Rank works, you’ve come to the right place. It’s a good idea to keep resetting a priority when the option becomes available. The rewards disappear once the season ends, so you don’t want to miss out. Read to the end to find out more about resetting Valor Ranks in Destiny 2.

Climbing Up the Valor Ranks

The only way to earn Valor Rank points is to play in the Crucible, particularly in the Quickplay or Rumble playlists. The difference between Glory and Valor Ranks is that you always get Valor Rank points, even if you lose. You, of course, earn more if you win, and streaks help you earn more points.

You can continue a streak even if you log out after playing enough in a day, head to the Tower or HELM. Other activities, however, will break your streak and consequently cause you to lose out on points.

For example, if you leave a Strike, Gambit match, or Crucible game, you lose a point in the streak.

The more you win, though, the sooner you go through the Valor Ranks.

Everyone begins the season at the Guardian Rank, but there are six ranks to climb up to:

  • Brave
  • Heroic
  • Fabled
  • Mythic
  • Legend
  • Exotic

Valor Rank caps out at 2,000 points, and once you get to this point, you can reset your Valor Rank.

Resetting Valor Rank

Head to the Tower and talk to Lord Shaxx to start the reset process. You should know where he is, as you’re likely to pay him many visits over the seasons. Here are the exact steps for resetting your Valor Rank:

  1. Go to the Tower and find Lord Shaxx.
    1 111
  2. Talk to him.
    2 20
  3. Collect all the rewards he gives you.
    3 15
  4. Select and hold the button the game specifies to reset your Valor Rank.
    4 15

Resetting your Valor Rank is that simple, and Lord Shaxx is always there to help. If that was your first-time resetting, you get an Ascendant Shard for your efforts. Subsequent maxing and resets yield more Enhancement Cores and Prisms, as well as an Exotic Engram.

5 8

You can also leave your Valor Rank be and let it reset after the season ends. However, we don’t advise doing so since you’ll lose out on Lord Shaxx’s reset rewards.

You can reset your Valor Rank as many times as you want. All you need are the points and determination to grind in the Crucible for a long time every day.

Tips for Rising in the Ranks

The best way to earn more points is to play PvP frequently. There are weekly challenges, bounties, and Iron Banner matches. All of these will help you reach max Rank quickly.

As mentioned earlier, the more you win, the sooner you rise through the ranks. Also, remember that it’s better to play with friends with voice chat to make communication more manageable.

Focus on learning how to play the game as well. Better shooting skills, reaction time, and other abilities will help you dominate the Crucible easier.

Superior Firepower and Skills Always Wins

To gain more Valor Rank resets, aim to win and play in the Crucible often. The rewards are worth the grind, especially the Exotic Engram. As long as you can reset your Valor Rank, you’ll continue to gain the rewards.

How many times have you reset your Valor Rank in a season? Do you grind for the rewards at all? Let us know in the comments section below.

How to Get the Hawkmoon Hand Cannon in Destiny 2 https://playerassist.com/destiny-2-get-hawk/ Sun, 19 Sep 2021 17:39:00 +0000 https://playerassist.com/?p=21280

One of the newer quests in “Destiny 2” has introduced the rare Hawkmoon Hand Cannon, a piece returning from the original “Destiny” title. The weapon is a part of the “Season of the Hunt” seasonal rewards and was available from late 2020 when Year Four of Destiny 2 started. Players who don’t have this season unlocked will need to purchase the Year’s Deluxe Edition to access previous seasons and obtain their rewards.

How to Get the Hawkmoon Hand Cannon in Destiny 2

Here’s how you can get Hawkmoon in Destiny 2.

Obtaining the Season of the Hunt

The Hawkmoon is a weapon introduced into Destiny 2 at the beginning of season 12, called the “Season of the Hunt.” This release is the first season after a major game overhaul that started at the end of Year Three, removing many in-game campaigns to make way for new ones.

hawk

For later seasons, players need to obtain the “Destiny 2 Beyond Light Deluxe Edition.” This edition gives the players access to seasons 12 through 15 (throughout the 2021 year). Otherwise, owning the Season Pass for the Season of the Hunt (Season 12) will give you access to Hawkmoon’s questline.

Getting the Hawkmoon Quest

Getting the Hawkmoon hand cannon boils down to finishing a special quest line if you have the Season Pass or the Deluxe Edition. Here is what you need to do.

Step 1: Get to the Tangled Shore

You’ll need to officially start the Hawkmoon quest by going to the Tangled Shore. The first step on the quest is to visit the Spider’s Lair on the shore. In there, you have to meet the Spider to get the “As the Crow Flies” quest, which is the mission that unlocks the weapon.

Step 2: Find Five Paracausal Feathers

The second part of the quest is to locate all five paracausal feathers. They are small items dispersed throughout the map. You won’t see them on the minimap, but they’ll shine when you get near them. Here are their locations:

  1. 6-The first feather is very near the Spider’s Lair. You’ll need to turn left when leaving the Lair, and a Fallen box should have a golden feather on top of it. That’s the quest item, and you need to pick it up.
    50
  2. The second piece is in the Sludge. You can land directly to the section via the EDZ, then walk towards the center platform to easily reach the feather. The feather is near the warehouse and the entrance towards the Shard of the Traveler.
    60 1
  3. The third feather is on the Cosmodrome. Go to the Steppes landing zone and jump on the pillar on the right. The golden feather should be close to the pillar.
    70
  4. The fourth feather is on the left side of the entrance to the Blind Well. Go to the Dreaming City via the Divalian Mists landing zone to get there.
    80
  5. The fifth feather is located on the Eris, on Moon. Go to the Archer’s Line and step into the Shrine of Oryx. The feather is in the large round room opposite the entrance.
90

Once you have all five feathers, go back to the Spider’s Lair.

Step 3: Let Loose Thy Talons Quest

You’ll need to speak to Crow in the Spider’s Lair to get the next part of the quest. You’ll see the marker and requirements for the “Let Loose Thy Talons” part of the questline. Follow the instructions.

11 1

Step 4: A Cry From Beyond Quest

The next part of the questline is to finish the “A Cry From Beyond” quest that Uldren gives you immediately after the previous one. You’ll need to return to Crow again and collect Orbs of Power.

12

Step 5: Orbs of Power

You generate Orbs by running your masterwork weapons and Super ability. Return to Crow after you’ve picked up all fifty Orbs.

100

Step 6: Trostland

Follow the quest marker to Trostland, EDZ. While going to the location, pick up feathers along the way. Unlike in Step 2, these feathers show up from a distance. Communicate with the birds there to get the last part.

150

Step 7: Defeat Champions or Guardians

You need to defeat champions or guardians in Gambit and Crucible locations. You’ll see a handy bar that fills with each kill, notifying you when the quest is complete.

120

Step 8: Go Back to Spider’s Lair

Talk to the bird in the Lair again, which unlocks the final boss of the questline. Defeating these enemies unlocks the Hawkmoon hand cannon.

140

Hawkmoon Unlocked in Destiny 2

The Hawkmoon hand cannon is a unique piece, boosting the final shot in the magazine as you kill or precisely hit enemies. Follow our instructions to get this weapon before the next Year begins, or you may lose your chance of obtaining this weapon for good.

Some time has passed since the initial release of Destiny 2. Since the release, which was back in 2017, the game has evolved quite a lot. However, while the game has fundamentally evolved, has anything changed in terms of which platforms support Destiny 2? Mac users have often been overlooked when it comes to games, but is that the case with Destiny 2, can you play it on a Mac? We set out to find that out!

Can You Play Destiny 2 On A Mac

Can You Play Destiny 2 On A Mac

Despite the general consensus that the game was only available on PlayStation, and that it was a ‘PS Special’, that is not the case. Straight out of the gate, since the release of the game, it was made available on quite a few platforms.

can you play destiny 2 on mac

Maybe that’s the picture that the players got just because Destiny 2 exercises the biggest player base on PlayStation. Whatever the case might be, with the new DLCs getting released on a regular basis, there are still some people that are looking to get into Destiny 2.

Unfortunately, Destiny 2 cannot be played on a Mac. In fact, Destiny 2 is available only on the following platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Google Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, Windows, & Xbox Gaming Cloud.

Games of this caliber usually get tweaked so they can be run on Mac, using software like Wine, however, that is not the case with Destiny.

The main reason as to why it isn’t available on Wine or any other virtulization software is because of its online nature. As you might know, Destiny 2 is purely online, and cannot be played without an internet connection.

So, to make that work on programs such as Wine and Parallels becomes an issue. Not to mention how big the actual game itself is.

Whatever the case may be, there is a way to play Destiny 2 on a Mac, and that is by using the Nvidia GeForce Now, which is a streaming service. There will be some latency, but that is a small price to pay if you want to play Destiny 2 on a Mac.

Destiny 2: How to Crossplay https://playerassist.com/destiny-2-how-to-crossplay/ https://playerassist.com/destiny-2-how-to-crossplay/#respond Thu, 13 May 2021 13:43:54 +0000 https://www.caffeinatedgamer.com/?p=11011

There has been a lot of confusion as to why there wasn’t a crossplay feature for so long in Destiny 2. Now, Bungie has came out to say that players should expect crossplay later this year. But until then, it seems as though some players can access crossplay early. So, how to crossplay early in Destiny 2? Well, let’s dive in a little deeper.

Destiny 2: How to Crossplay

How to Crossplay – Destiny 2

This feature wasn’t meant to be live as early as it went live. This was acknowledged by a Bungie community team member officially through twitter.

There have been many instances since the recent update, of players getting on crossplay, and it seems entirely possible. Cozmo, the community team member of Bungie, also went on to say that this will be removed soon, but players are free to partake in the meanwhile.

So, how do you do it? Well, to crossplay in Destiny 2, follow the steps below:

  1. Start Destiny 2 on PC, and don’t log in. Leave the client at the ‘press to play’ screen.
  2. Go on a platform from which you want to play the game, and log into the game.
  3. Now, the other players must login on Steam, and add you as their friend. After that, they will be able to see you logged in, and join you.
  4. Once your buddy joins your party from Steam, crossplay is possible.

Now, this is highly inconvenient, since you do have to login on Steam and link all of your accounts, but still, for accessing a feature a lot earlier that it is intended to be live is fun nonetheless.

However, since this was unintentional, there are still bugs and issues that players might encounter. The point is, that the crossplay feature might not be a pleasurable experience after all.

This is also great for troubleshooting for Bungie, since they can see how the game performs for a crossplay feature, and therefore make it more optimized or fix any issues with it. There isn’t an exact date of when this will be patched, but chances are, that it will be soon!

Destiny 2: Week 6 Presage Smuggling Compartment Chest Location https://playerassist.com/destiny-2-week-6-presage-smuggling-compartment-chest-location/ https://playerassist.com/destiny-2-week-6-presage-smuggling-compartment-chest-location/#respond Wed, 24 Mar 2021 19:14:06 +0000 https://www.caffeinatedgamer.com/?p=10190

The Presage mission has become somewhat of a legend in the newest season of Destiny 2. The main reason for this is because there are many objectives that need to be completed here, and most of them run on a weekly model. This means that you will possibly need to finish the Presage mission each week, in order to complete many of the objectives that are set there.

Destiny 2: Week 6 Presage Smuggling Compartment Chest Location

Whether you’ve had enough of this mission or not, you might be somewhat chained, because the sixth week’s smuggling compartment chest was just made available.

Smuggling Compartment Location Week 6 – Presage

Now, it is important to note that, before getting to “Tucked Away” which is the quest for the smuggling compartments, one must run Presage at least one, in order to unlock a captain’s log.

The captain’s log is an item which basically allows you to get to the next smuggling compartment, and actually get it. Don’t worry about the captain’s log though, because it will give you this item automatically after running Presage.

The locations for the smuggling compartments in previous weeks weren’t that scattered. Additionally, most were somewhat in the beginning of the mission, however, this week’s smuggling compartment is a bit different.

To get week 6 smuggling compartment, one must wait to reach the trash compactor area. Basically, you get to this area mid-mission, and it is the location where you have to shoot the vents in the floor.

Basically, shoot the vents, destroy all energy sources, and find a vent that is an entrance. Drop down, and you should see a tablet, activate it. Upon activation, jump out of this hole.

Search for another vent that is basically a hole underneath. Dropdown inside, and you should find the smuggling compartment for week 6 there.

Now, I would recommend that you shoot up all of the vents here in order to find the smuggling compartment as easy as possible.

Thankfully, there aren’t many vents that are actually holes beneath, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding it.

Exploring can be a daunting task in Destiny 2, especially if you have run the Presage mission for a crazy amount of times. However, that is required if you want to collect all of the smuggling compartments. As for the captain’s logs, they get automatically obtained upon completion of the mission, but the smuggling compartments are hidden in a new spot each week, which makes them really difficult to find.

Destiny 2: Smuggling Compartments Location | Week 3

Other than that, they are usually behind big walls and openings which are relatively unnoticeable. To open these, one must access the tablet which is usually somewhere near.

Smuggling Compartments Week 3 Location – Destiny 2

Similar to the other smuggling compartments, the ones from the other weeks, this week’s compartments is hidden exceptionally well also. We thought it would be best to give you the exact location to save you from the trouble of looking for it yourself.

destiny 2 smuggling compartments location week three

Only a couple of more smuggling compartments remain until the season’s end, and even those that have missed the other one have still a chance to acquire all of them.

Because it is a tad bit difficult to pinpoint the exact location for the third week’s smuggling compartment, we thought it be best to give you a little guide:

  1. Keep progressing in the starting vents until you reach a burning wall.
  2. Get a buff in order to go through the burning wall.
  3. After going through, follow the path on the right side, and soon you will see a tablet on the ground.
  4. Access the tablet, and a door on the right will be opened.

Enter through the door, and you should see a chest with the week 3 smuggling compartment inside.

At the moment there are only four available smuggling compartments, but soon, the next one will be revealed, so stay tuned to be up to date with the latest smuggling compartment locations.

Many players speculate that there will only be five smuggling compartments for the Tucked Away mission, and it does seem to be shaping up to be that way. That means that the week following from the time of writing will be the last smuggling compartment.

Getting all of the smuggling compartments might be a hassle in Destiny 2’s newest season. This goes for starting the quest as well. To start getting all of the smuggling compartments, players will need to get the first captain log. Getting the first captain’s log will be after completing the Presage mission, arguably one of the toughest missions out there at the moment. After that, players will need to collect a smuggling compartment each week.

Destiny 2: Smuggling Compartments Location | Week 2

However, each week, these smuggling compartments change location. Also, many have missed the first and second smuggling compartment. So, we will show you exactly where to get week 2 one.

Smuggling Compartment Week 2 Location – Destiny 2

Most of the time, these smuggling compartments are so well hidden that one could not even notice them. Plus, they’re usually behind some walls or doors, which can be opened with the tablets that you find.

destiny 2 smuggling compartments location week two

Ultimately, all of these smuggling compartments are part of the Tucked Away mission, which will unlock only after players unlock their first captain’s log, which is a challenge in and of itself.

Still, let’s get down to business and explore the Presage to find the week 2 smuggling compartment:

  1. Continue forwards in the first vents that you enter, after entering the ship.
  2. Don’t stop until you reach the dropdown opening that leads to the door, which will lead you to the start of the mission.
  3. Access the tablet which is in the corner of the vent.
  4. Behind you there should be a door that has been opened.
  5. Enter through the doorway and you will find the smuggling compartment for week 2 in Destiny 2.

There will be much more smuggling compartments that will be implemented in the game in the following weeks, so be sure to stick around and follow us to get information about the latest locations.

Getting to these is always difficult, but there is no denying that all of the missions in Destiny 2 are usually rewarding, especially ones like the Presage, and other side missions.

Make sure to collect the captain’s logs as well, which can be done automatically by completing the Presage mission each week!

There have been a lot of interesting new additions in Destiny 2. The Presage mission is the most famous mission in Destiny 2 at the moment, partly because it is so connected with completing other challenges and missions as well. On top of that, you get the Dead Man’s Tale from it, which is an exotic scout rifle. Even though it is a scout, it is a hefty piece of weaponry.

Destiny 2: Smuggling Compartments Location | Week 1

Nonetheless, after getting your first Captain’s Log, you will also start with the Tucked Away mission, which is finding and opening smuggling compartments.

Smuggling Compartment Week 1 Location – Destiny 2

The smuggling compartments will be available until the season’s end, and each week, there will be a different smuggling compartment for you to find. You can start collecting these even later, even if you missed the first week’s one.

destiny 2 smuggling compartments location week one

So, because Destiny’s developers have endless hiding places for quest’s objectives it seems like, we thought it best to share the location for the first week smuggling compartment.

Since the exact location can be exactly pinpointed, the week 1 smuggling compartment location will be separated into a few parts:

  1. After you land in the ship, you will be in some sort of a duct.
  2. Soon after the second left, there will be a vent which you can shoot behind some fungus.
  3. Use the tablet on the ground to open the hidden smuggling compartment’s location.

Sometimes you might not be able to use the tablet, which means only one thing. You have only completed Presage once or not at all.

Again, to be able to collect hidden compartments, players must complete the Presage mission at least twice in order to be able to use the tablets, or even get the Tucked Away mission for that matter.

This is because after finishing the Presage mission two times, you will get the first Captain Log, which is part of the story, and what will let you unlock the hidden smuggling compartments.

To get all captain’s logs though, one must complete the Presage each week. The Captain’s Log will be acquired automatically.
