This year has started off pretty strong in terms of how many exceptional indie games have been released. Games like Valheim and Slormancer are perfect examples of how some enthusiastic individuals and groups of people can create such exceptional video games. In any case, these games are out in early access and the developers are building on them daily. Still, many have fallen in love with them.

Since many start grinding early, there are a lot of questions on what is good what is bad, which mechanics give the most advantage, and similar things.

With the Slormancer, it is the same. Many are wondering which is the best build to go for.

Overpowered Build Guide – The Slormancer

This build will be a mage build. Let’s start off by going over what stats you should be focusing on.

For Defense, I recommend focusing only on armor, elemental resistance, and health. There is not much else to cover here, as the build is more of a hybrid one, and the playstyle is pretty fast-paced. As for Offense, make sure to focus on elemental damage, crit %, and crit damage.

Make sure to go Phlegmatic Caster for your specialization. Take Arcane Missile as your first skill. As for which modifiers to go with, follow this template:

The most important thing in this build is the Orb of the Arcane Master. It should be your main DPS ability to use during fights. You do have to be at a later stage in the game, since it unlocks at level 31. For modifiers, go with:

Being a phlegmatic caster, you will get the Time Warp skill which is basically a blink. Its cooldown is pretty low, and it is very useful in positioning and avoiding tricky situations. For modifiers, it doesn’t really matter, as long as you tailor them to a fast-paced AOE build.

Since the game is still in Early Access, there are only points that you can use in the Ancestral Legacy. Use them to get Air Conditioner, and from that, get Neriva’s Shield.

For attributes, follow this template:

Tailor your gear to the stats that I mentioned before. Also, since this build doesn’t have any healing abilities, make sure to get a bit of health regen or life steal on your gear. No need for movement speed if you have the staff, if you don’t get something for that as well.

There is not much to say about the playstyle except, keep moving.

It is a fast paced build, just move around as much as possible, and use the Orb of the Arcane Master and the Arcane Missles. Since these are most AOE, aim at the crowd!

Valheim, even though it shot up in popularity, and many claim it has the most complex building mechanics of all games, does have its limitations. Because the game is made to look and feel as real as possible, there are some things that you just cannot do or build for that matter. Building in this game is as real as it gets, but sometimes you might find yourself not being able to achieve something that you want to build.

That is the particular case for the spiral staircase. Options are limited with stairs in Valheim, and you must resort to the ordinary ones, or should you?

Build Spiral Staircase in Valheim

Now, thankfully, there is no need to resort to using cheats to build the spiral cases, like with the cheat sword and the fire sword. These can be built regularly, by using a bit of determination.

Yes it is quirky, but at the moment, Valheim doesn’t have any spiral staircases in the crafting roster. They might be added in the future, but for now, the community has found a way to build these stairs.

To build the spiral staircases in Valheim, one must do the following:

1. Start by placing a log pole 4m at a desired location.
2. After that, get your wood beam 2m, and place one where you want the staircase to begin, but keep in mind that it has to be connected to the log.
3. Place another 2m wood beam slightly lower than the one before (where the next one should go). Make sure it is at least 50% lower, i.e. in the middle of the one placed before.

4. Then, get on the first one that you placed, change it to a rotation that you like, and carefully place it above the one that you just built.

5. This will in turn make it slightly above the last one. After that, break the lower piece, and rinse and repeat!

This process does take a while to perfectly align all of the beams, but once you get the hang of it, it is relatively easy. Furthermore, it is far better than the other spiral stair designs in terms of structural integrity and rigidity.

Since Valheim passed five million downloads, there might be more focus towards making the game even better, so we might see spiral staircases as a thing in the future.

Since Iron Gate is a much more flexible development company, partly due to its indie title, the developers are known to implement some interesting and questionable things into the game.

This is because the sword is implemented into the game, but in order to get this sword, one must utilize the cheat commands in Valheim.

Cheat Sword Craft & Stats – Valheim

It is very obvious that this sword is not intended for any other use, than for lols only. Since it does more than 10 thousand damage, we really don’t see any practical use for it in the future, if its stats aren’t altered.

With the cheat commands in Valheim, players can do many things, and that includes spawning stuff. Along with the cheater sword, one can also spawn other swords that are scheduled to come into the game, like the secret fire sword.

Nonetheless, if you’re okay with cheating, or you want to have some fun in your Valheim world, then you can spawn the cheat sword relatively easily:

1. Launch Valheim and go into your world.
2. Open the console using F5.
3. After that, type this command: “imacheater”.
4. Then, you can spawn the cheat sword with the following command: “spawn SwordCheat 1”.

NOTE: Make sure that you type in the commands exactly as is, because the console in Valheim is case-sensitive.

Cheat Sword Stats

You might be surprised to see some of the stats of this sword. As we said, this sword will probably never enter the game, and it is more for fun rather than an actual item.

Here are some of the Cheat sword stats:

• One-handed
• Weight: 2,0
• Slash: 10000
• Block Power: 10
• Parry Force: 0

• Knockback: 40

Iron Gate has always been known to make fun of cheaters. One particular example is the command to activate cheats, which is “imacheater”. As for this sword’s description, it just says: “Cheater!”.

Nonetheless, if you want to have some fun with your buddies, or on a separate world in Valheim, then it is quite interesting to have 10k slash damage!

It is undeniable how many great weaponry one can craft in Valheim. Still, even though it may appear as there is no limit to how far one can go in the game, there is actually an end.

Two swords that stand out as the best swords in the game are the secret fire sword, and the cheat sword.

Secret Fire Sword Craft & Stats – Valheim

Today though, we will focus on one of them, and that’s the secret fire sword. The fire sword is one of the best swords in the game, and it is intended for the late-game portion.

It has undeniably strong stats, and you will have no issue taking down any enemy that crosses your path. Its description states: “Unsheathed, it sizzles and spits with deathless fire, an impossible blade”.

But how can you craft the secret Fire sword at the moment in Valheim? Well, because it is not yet added into the game, it can’t be crafted, but you can get it either way:

1. Go into a Valheim world.
2. Open the console with F5.
3. Type in “imacheater”.
4. Then, type in “spawn SwordIronFire 1”, and keep in mind the capitalization of the letters.
5. You can deactivate cheat mode by typing “imacheater” again.

Of course, at the moment, both of the above mentioned swords are either for testing or for lols. Seeing as though they can’t be crafted in the game, one could only assume that this is the case.

Secret Fire Sword Stats

For the fire sword, we can see that it has much more down to earth stats, compared to the cheater sword:

• One-handed
• Weight: 1,0
• Durability: 200
• Repair Station Level: 2
• Slash: 55
• Fire: 30

However, this will change in the future, and the secret fire sword – Dyrnwyn, is planned to enter the game at some point. This means that this sword will soon become available for crafting. Here are the resources you will need for crafting:

As for the cheater sword, there is no indication that it is even remotely planned to enter the game. It has some scary and overpowered stats, which might indicate that it is only for fun.

Whatever the case may be, you can try out both of these, and expect the fire sword to enter the game in the future.

Iron Gate, Valheim’s developers, are very determined to make this game even better than it is. One indication is the plan for 2021’s updates, which include four major ones.

Nevertheless, here is what they wanted to say about the game’s recent success: “We watch with pride and excitement, and struggle to find the words to express our gratitude to you, the community.” they humbly stated.

They also went on to talk about the next milestones planned for 2021 and that they can not wait to show players what they have in store.

Overall, they seem like a great team of developers, which is no surprise when looking at Valheim. 

Nowadays, Valheim is ranked at the third spot in the Steam library for the most players at one time. Even though it has a lot of roads to get to the most played game on Steam, the game does not seem to stop in growth!

4. Copy the folder “Valheim” and put it on your desktop, or wherever it would be safe.

5. If something happens to your save file, you can copy your last backup, and paste it to the above-mentioned path.

Make sure to backup your save files each time that you play the game. After your recent backup delete any old ones to avoid confusion.

However, if you want to keep older saves, where you haven’t progressed as much, you can keep them. In all honesty, you don’t even need to backup each time you play, but it will ensure that you will lose the lowest amount of progress.

For dedicated servers the process is similar, it is just that the saves might be in a different location. Same goes for hosted servers. 

You have to find the save files, which are usually named the same as any other singeplayer world and character files. Then copy and keep them somewhere safe.

Yes, you can make a boat swing in Valheim. Kind of like the ones you get at amusement parks. It’s a bit tricky to build it, so follow the steps carefully:

1. Go to the shore, and place a 2m horizontal wood beam, close to where the water and land connect.
2. Then connect a 1m horizontal wood beam to it.
3. After that, put 4m vertical poles on each side of it. Do this twice.
4. Next, put 2m horizontal beams, moving straight and parallel from the poles.
5. Get a 1m wood pole, and go down from the beams on both sides.
6. Then get a 1m beam and continue straight. After that, go up again, with a 1m wood pole. 
7. Part 5 and 6 should look like this for both sides:

8. After that, it is only a matter of continuing and copying the whole structure to the other side. Same as the other side.

Then, in the middle of the structure, you might have to level the ground or dig down in order to get some water in the middle. This is because you can only place boats in water, not on land.

The good thing is that it doesn’t have to be a huge body of water, it can be just a paddle. It is just important that it is above water.

Also, keep in mind that when placing the boat, it must be alligned properly in the swing, and it must be in the exact middle, so that the boat’s sail falls in the middle part where there are holes on top of the swing.

Then you can push the boat in order for it to start swinging!

Still, you can spawn a blueberry or a raspberry bush in Valheim, but it will require cheating. If you have no issue with that, you can generate a brush in the following way:

1. Go into your Valheim world.
2. Open up the console.
3. Type in “imacheater” – without the double quotes.
4. After that, type in “debugmode.”
5. Then you can spawn a raspberry bush with the following command: “spawn RaspberryBush.”

Keep in mind the capitalization of the letters because the console in Valheim is case-sensitive in many cases.

Unfortunately, there is not a legit way to do this. There is no picking up the bush or even growing your own. Those who would rather play legit must pick berries from the open world for their mead bases.

When using this method, the bushes sometimes spawn weirdly when using this methodly, so you must remember how your character is aligned. Make sure to turn to the side where you want to spawn a bush.

In any case, these bushes can be destroyed, so there is no need to worry.

• Once you have dug a big hole that is approximately as big as your house, start leveling the ground and placing the wall pieces. Extend the wall pieces from the ones on your house.
• Place flooring. Also, make sure to place some vertical beams to support the floor pieces in your house!

That’s it! You might run into some issues when building the basement, as this is still Valheim. However, once you get the hang of it, it is actually relatively straightforward.
