Does Cyberpunk 2077 have a flashlight?

Is There a Flashlight in Cyberpunk 2077? - Answered

Cyberpunk 2077 is a dark game in both its themes and visuals. While the former gives Cyberpunk 2077 an interesting plotline, the latter makes it difficult to see objects onscreen, raising the need for a tool such as a flashlight to aid with vision in darker areas.

First-person perspective games such as Cyberpunk 2077 typically employ a flashlight to help players see better as they explore darker areas on the map. However, does Cyberpunk 2077 have a flashlight option? We will answer that question in this quick guide.

Is There a Flashlight in Cyberpunk 2077?

Unfortunately, there is no Flashlight in Cyberpunk 2077. There are likely no plans to add the feature in a future update, as even the newest update, Cyberpunk 2.0 Phantom Liberty, did not add a flashlight to the game.

That said, players have split opinions about having a flashlight in Cyberpunk 2077. Some players never found the need to have a flashlight in the game, while other players swear they cannot see even in well-lit areas.

Why is there no flashlight in Cyberpunk?

Cyperpunk 2077 dev Pawel Sasko and the rest of the Cyberpunk dev wanted to preserve the lighting contrasts for various light sources in Cyberpunk 2077; hence, they felt no need to add a flashlight. The dev team believed that allowing the player to light up specific areas in the game using a flashlight would diminish the lighting contrasts in the dark.

Other players think having no flashlight in Cyberpunk 2077 is deliberate, as it adds to the game’s dark atmosphere and adds another layer of difficulty.

Why is Cyberpunk so dark?

Aside from a few mission locations intentionally made darker to suit the mission’s mood and atmosphere, Cyberpunk 2077’s game environment should generally be bright enough, and items in darker areas should be visible if you have the right gamma and HDR settings.

Some players report that the default HDR setting for Cyberpunk is set unusually low, making the entire game look darker than it should be. Gamma also plays a part in this, so tweak both settings until you get the right brightness and contrast for your specific monitor setup.

How do I turn up the brightness on Cyberpunk 2077?

You can turn up the brightness in Cyberpunk 2077 by playing around with the Gamma Correction option in the Video settings menu. The optimal Gamma setting for Cyberpunk 2077 will depend on your monitor’s current settings, so adjust the slider until you see a lighting improvement in-game.

To find the Gamma Correction setting in Cyberpunk 2077, go to the settings menu, then look toward the right side of the settings menu, and you’ll find Gamma Correction. Press the corresponding button to access the setting, then adjust the Gamma settings using the slider. The lower the Gamma value, the better you’ll be able to see in the dark.

Check out our guide on How To See in the Dark in Cyberpunk 2077, where we have outlined a few tips and tricks to improve visibility in the dark in-game.

Conclusion

If you struggle to see things onscreen in Cyberpunk 2077, messing around with the Gamma or HDR settings is your only option. Players expecting the addition of a flashlight in Update 2.0 of Cyberpunk 2077 will be disappointed as the devs still haven’t added the feature to the game, and they don’t seem to have plans to add the feature in a future update.

How To Reset Your Attribute Points in Cyberpunk 2077 https://playerassist.com/how-to-reset-your-attribute-points-in-cyberpunk-2077/ Mon, 16 Oct 2023 22:34:49 +0000 https://playerassist.com/?p=429550

Learn how to reset your attribute points in Cyberpunk 2077!

How To Reset Your Attribute Points in Cyberpunk 2077

The Cyberpunk 2077 circa patch 2.0 completely changed the game as a whole. The update reworked many things, including combat, skills, and equipment, to the point where the game was almost like a brand-new game. Any stat and perk builds you previously had become useless after the patch.

Although you can always choose to start a new game, it is easier to respec your character. The modified respec system of Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 update made things a lot easier for players to go from being a knife-wielding stealth assassin to a shotgun-wielding warrior.

How to Respec Attribute Points in Cyberpunk 2077?

In video games, respeccing means reallocating the distribution of your current skill points. There are two kinds of respec that you can do to your character in Cyberpunk 2077: an attribute and a perk respec.

Respeccing your perks allows you to reset your allotted points to obtain new bonuses and abilities. On the other hand, respeccing your attributes resets your core stats and allows you to redistribute the points to your desired attributes.

In-game Respec

Although resetting your attribute points is much easier than resetting your perks, it is also very limited, as you can only respec your attribute points once per playthrough. Without using any mods in the game, you only have one chance to reset them, so make sure not to waste it.

Unlike respeccing perks, resetting your attribute points reimburses all your spent points in one fell swoop so you can redistribute them. If you want to reset your current attribute points in Cyberpunk 2077, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Game Menu interface from your inventory by pressing the ‘I’ key on your keyboard.
  2. In the game menu, locate and click on the Character tab on the upper portion of the screen, right next to the Inventory tab.
  3. Click on the Reset Attributes button at the bottom-left portion of the screen.
  4. A pop-up warning message will notify you that you can only redistribute your spent attribute points once per game. Pressing Yes will reset the spent points, allowing you to reallocate them to your desired attribute. Choosing No will stop you from respeccing your current attribute points and save the do-over for another time.

Once you respec your attributes, you can only respec them again by using the Infinite Attribute Reset mod, which allows you to reset an unlimited number of times.

You should also note that your abilities are now tied to your attributes due to the Cyberpunk 2077 perk system circa update 2.0. This means you can obtain stronger and better Perks with more points you allot into a stat. The strongest abilities can be obtained once you max out a single attribute.

Infinite Attribute Reset Mod

The Infinite Attribute Reset mod from Nexus Mods allows players to reset their attributes anytime. Once deployed, this mod will make it so that the reset attribute button, which disappears after being used once, will remain available at all times, allowing players to respec their character’s attributes unlimitedly. On a side note, this mod is also compatible with the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update.

To install the Infinite Attribute Reset mod, simply follow the following steps:

  1. First, you have to install REDmod. This DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 will allow you to install and load mods into the game. You must choose and download the DLC relevant to your current game version: Steam, GOG, or from the official website.
  2. Next, Go to Nexus Mods and download the Infinite Attribute Reset mod to your computer.
  3. Once downloaded, extract the mod to the game folder, Cyberpunk 2077/mods. The entire folder structure should be Cyberpunk 2077/mods/InfiniteResetAttributes/info.json.
  4. Open the main directory, then locate and run the REDprelauncher.exe application.
  5. Ensure the Mods Enabled option is active by clicking the gear icon next to the Play button.
    • If the gear icon is not visible, do the following steps:
      1. Go to the folder directory: Cyberpunk 2077/r6/cache
      2. Create an empty folder and rename it to modded.
      3. Run the application again.
    • If the gear icon is gray, this will change it to yellow, and the deployment window for mods will pop up. Wait for a few seconds and run the game again.
    • If the gear icon is green, this will change it to gray. Simply wait for a few seconds and click the icon again. This should immediately turn the icon green again.
  6. Press Play, and the mods deployment screen should show up and automatically start the game.

Take note that you must redeploy the mod every time you download the updated version to use the updated REDmod mod. Otherwise, the update will not take effect, and the old files will continue to be used by the game even when they’ve already been replaced.

Cyberpunk 2077: How to Reboot Your Sandevistan https://playerassist.com/cyberpunk-2077-reboot-sandevistan/ Tue, 19 Sep 2023 10:47:09 +0000 https://playerassist.com/?p=427408

Learn how to reboot your Sandevistan in Cyberpunk 2077 and fix the bug of it functioning properly.

Cyberpunk 2077: How to Reboot Your Sandevistan

CD Projekt Red has a lot to thank Cyberunk: Edgerunners for when it comes to the game’s rejuvenation. Cyberpunk 2077 has never been more hyped since the anime dropped.

One of the most unique items fans saw in the anime was David Martinez’s Sandevistan, which allowed him to move at superhuman speeds. The ‘Sandy’ upgrade is available in the game, but some have noticed a particular bug in which they can’t use the upgrade properly; luckily, there is a fix.

What is the Sandevistan?

In Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, David finds a piece of illegal military equipment called the Sandevistan and has it installed on himself (despite the apparent physical toll). In the anime, we see David move at superspeed thanks to the Sandy, and he uses it to rise to the top of the criminal ranks, pulling off heists and all kinds of gigs.

In the game, the Sandevistan is an upgrade you can install on your character, which will essentially slow down time and allow you to run rings around any enemies looking to take you out. Multiple Sandys are available to install in the game, each having varying effects on combat; some increase the damage and chance for a critical hit, besides being able to slow down time.

Regarding builds, the Sandy is highly recommended for players looking to focus on their ninja skills and stick only to swords and knives. Blades may not be as fast as a gun, but with a Sandy, you can run around the whole map, killing everyone before they even think to pull out a weapon.

The Bug

As multiple people have posted online in the forums, there is a prevalent bug around the game involving the Sandevistan, which won’t activate even when the player has it equipped. At some points, the equipment does randomly work, which is a big problem, especially when the player gets in the middle of a big fight.

The faulty Sandy bug has been consistent enough that many players have been posting about it online. It’s also unclear what causes the bug. Still, some suggest that it would have something to do with other game elements that shouldn’t be accessible when the Sandy is activated—for example, when someone calls, it could trigger the Sandy bug.

Some have also said the bug occurs when they interrupt Sandy’s cooldown—like when they pause the game or check messages.

Rebooting the Sandevistan

Though the same problem occurs for multiple players, there have been several ways to fix the bug posted online. The tricky part is you may require a specific fix to reboot your sandevistan.

The most common piece of advice is to have the item uninstalled and installed by a Ripper doc. Visit a Ripper doc’s clinic and install an alternate OS where the Sandy should be, exit the chair, and come back and have it installed again. If that doesn’t work, some players suggest that you uninstall the Sandy, go to V’s apartment and take a long nap, then come back and have it installed again.

To save time on the traveling, some suggest installing a different OS, triggering it out of the chair, then returning to the doc and reinstalling the Sandy. Others will say the bug can easily be fixed by manually saving the game and loading it again.

With the problem prevalent enough, we should expect CDPR to come up with a solution soon. The game does have a huge incoming DLC drop with Phantom Liberty, and if you don’t want to purchase that, the base game will be receiving a large update.

After an unforgettably disastrous launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has been slowly regaining interest. Besides the upcoming Netflix series Edgerunners, developers CD Projekt Red have now given us a look at the upcoming expansion Phantom Liberty.

Phantom Liberty: Cyberpunk 2077 Reveals Upcoming Expansion

Watch this:

I, V, do solemnly swear that I shall faithfully serve the New United States of America.

Get ready for Phantom Liberty — a spy-thriller expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 set in an all new district of Night City.

We don’t really get much when it comes to story, but we do have a familiar voiceover which confirms that Keanu Reeves will be coming back for the expansion to reprise the role of Johnny Silverhand. With the whole pledge of allegiance in the trailer, I think this expansion is going to have V going up against another global superpower—really keeping it to the ‘punk’ theme of the game. Let’s just hope they didn’t overwork some developers like they did with the first launch.

With a release set for next year, it could be a while before we get a look at Phantom Liberty again, but for now I’m just excited to come back to Night City. So far, the game hasn’t been able to shake off the bad press it got at launch, but with all the fixes, and the upcoming expansion, maybe it’s time for some people to finally jump in on the Cyberpunk hype train.

No specific release date has been set for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, but the expansion is expected to launch sometime in 2023 for the PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia.

Regardless of how you like the game, the world of Cyberpunk 2077 is just so lush and colourful, that there’s so many places a story can go. Netflix has just dropped a trailer for their anime spinoff called Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and it’s filled with that signature animation from Studio Trigger.

Return to Night City in First Teaser for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Watch this:

Here’s the official description:

The series tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City — a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he stays alive by becoming an edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.

Like I said, the world of Cyberpunk was already colourful enough by itself, but if you add that animation from Trigger and some great action—you’re sure to have a hit at your hands. If you’re not familiar with Trigger, they’re the studio behind anime hits like Kill la Kill, Darling in the FranXX, BNA, and Little Witch Academia.

Since this is just the teaser, we should expect a new full trailer to give us a better look at the characters in the next few months. Based on what we’ve seen though, they’ve really added a unique twist to the world, and I can’t wait to see more of these Edgerunners. Hopefully we get something around July, but that’s just wishful thinking on my part.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners comes to Netflix this September.

CD Projekt Red is not Done with Cyberpunk 2077 Just Yet https://playerassist.com/cd-projekt-red-isnt-done-with-cyberpunk-2077-just-yet/ https://playerassist.com/cd-projekt-red-isnt-done-with-cyberpunk-2077-just-yet/#respond Wed, 13 Apr 2022 07:03:55 +0000 https://playerassist.com/?p=339673

With CD Projekt Red’s announcement for the next Witcher game, many fans thought that this would be CDPR’s chance to sweep the failure of Cyberpunk 2077 under the rug, but it seems the studio is not finished with Night City just yet.

CD Projekt Red is not Done with Cyberpunk 2077 Just Yet

According to Cyberpunk’s Quest Director Pawel Sasko, CDPR still intends to add new content for the game. In a recent BTS look posted on Reddit (via The Gamer), Sasko explains, “We’re still improving the game because we are all aware there is work to be done… We’re very happy you guys liked 1.5, and that gives us more…incentive to work for you guys because you show your appreciation for it.

Sasko did not go into specifics of what is coming for the game, but he did follow it up with, “That’s as much as I can tell you. We are working on stuff for you. Like I’m literally daily reviewing quests, talking to people about stuff, so it is happening.”

Everyone remembers the hype that was building for Cyberpunk 2077 before it was released. With how much praise The Witcher III received, the hype was on for CDPR’s next game. The hype just continued to build after the game was delayed several more times, and by the time it came out in December 2020, fans were met with a buggy mess that could not be played correctly on previous-gen consoles. The complaints got so bad that PlayStation had to pull the game from the PS Store not shortly after the release.

Ever since the announcement of the latest patch, fans have been taking another look at Cyberpunk, and interest is again going up. When the next expansion drops, we should expect some ‘Cyberpunk saved’ consensus.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now playable for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

CDPR may have fallen down a hole of trouble ever since they launched Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2020, but the studio has been hard at work adding improvements to the game, and the latest finally ups the features for the new-gen consoles.

Love It or Burn It: Watch Launch Trailer for Next-Gen Update of Cyberpunk 2077

Watch the launch trailer:

Take a look at the Patch 1.5/Next-Gen Update trailer captured on PlayStation 5. With the update, #Cyberpunk2077 takes advantage of the additional power of the newest generation of console hardware, allowing for ray tracing features and 4K with dynamic scaling, faster loading times, and a variety of other visual and technical improvements, as well as utilizes the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback functionalities.

When the game originally launched in 2020, it was incredibly bashed for not being able to play smoothly on old-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. Though the marketing team did a great job hyping up the game, they kind of botched it when the developers couldn’t catch up to their set release dates.

Though Cyberpunk was heavily criticized upon release, the game was still praised for its story, and there was a clear attention to detail when it came to the world of Night City and its inhabitants.

Hopefully we have some more updates down the line when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077. I mean, if GTA V can survive this long, there’s just endless potential with a world like Cyberpunk’s.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 4|5.

CD Projekt Red has just recently held a livestream for Cyberpunk 2077, and as speculated, we got a look at the new-gen upgrade for the game. Just in, we have some official videos showcasing the game running on Xbox Series X|S as well as the PS5.

Check Out Gameplay for Cyberpunk 2077 on New-Gen Consoles

This is the video for Xbox:

And here’s the one for PlayStation:

The description for the upgrade reads that the game promises faster loading times, ray tracing support, and 4K with dynamic scaling. Though the game had a problem running with the old-gen consoles, we should expect the visuals to go all out when it comes to the new-gen Xbox and PlayStation.

Admittedly, Cyberpunk 2077 had such a disastrous launch that it had become a cautionary tale among the industry about meeting deadlines and worker abuse. CDPR has a big hole to dig themselves out of, but it’s great that they’re still adding some improvements to what could have been their next big hit.

CD Projekt Red has been in the red since they botched the release of Cyberpunk 2077, but even though the game didn’t have a successful launch, that doesn’t mean the team can’t still polish the game up for the future.

Cyberpunk 2077 Livestream Announced for Tomorrow

Just in, the official Cyberpunk 2077 account has announced that they’ll be doing a livestream on Feb. 15 4 p.m. CET/7 a.m. PST. Here’s the official post:

We don’t know exactly what CDPR wants to reveal for this livestream, but some fans are hoping that it will highlight the upgrade of the game for new-gen consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Even if that was the case, it would be great if we could get a proper road map that gives us a look at any upcoming expansions or campaigns that could be added to the existing story.

Currently, there is a rumor going around that the new-gen launch of Cyberpunk 2077 will come around mid-February or early March. With the event upcoming, it’s the perfect time to hype up a March release. Even if it was set for later in the year, it would be great to see how CDPR plans to dig itself out of this particular hole.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality.

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberunk 2077 launch was such a huge flop that the game has become a cautionary tale about meeting deadlines and game studio abuse. That being said, CDPR hasn’t given up on the game just yet, and we may have the release window for its new-gen update.

New-Gen Launch Window for Cyberpunk 2077 Leaked?

As pointed out by leaker @PlayStationSIze, the new-gen launch for Cyberpunk 2077 could come around mid-February or early March. While the account only tracks PlayStation leaks, it’s very likely that this launch could come for the Xbox Series X|S as well.

Though the hype was on for Cyberpunk 2077, the game had proven unfinished when it launched for old-gen consoles like the PS4. The bugs had gotten so bad that the game was eventually pulled out of the PS Store. The controversies just continued from that point, with news of developers being pushed to work overtime and investors suing the studio for financial damages.

With enough time—and the PlayStation 5 being a vastly superior machine—Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to run the way it was promised when it comes to these new gen consoles. Let’s just hope that CDPR has managed to keep good faith with its developers and fans, as there are some that will defend the game to death to this day.

No official release has been announced for the new-gen upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077, but the title is currently available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4|5, and PC.
