First, you need to create an account at the official PUBG website. Then, download the game at the PUBG Lite website by clicking on the ’Download’ button at the top-right of the page.

You can use a VPN service such as Express VPN to connect to the server of a country that supports PUBG Lite Beta. For example, you can connect to its Singapore server and change your computer’s time zone to Singapore. If you don’t change the time zone, the game will not launch.

Since the validation of your location occurs at the start of every match, you can disconnect from your VPN once you are in the plane. This way, you can prevent connection issues that may happen due to the VPN. You can also save on the bandwidth of your VPN since free packages are usually limited.

Is PUBG Lite PC Regularly Updated?

PUBG Lite has the same frequent update process as its regular counterpart. The first released version contained only the Erangel map, which was the first map ever released for PUBG.

A similar thing happened with crouch jumping, which was a widely popular move in the early installments of the game. Today, crouch jumping is officially removed as an option. Some deem it as not needed, while others are begging to bring it back.

Even though it officially isn’t an option anymore, there are methods to make your character crouch jump.

What Is Crouch Jumping?

When you want to jump over a certain object in PUBG today, you can use vaulting. Your run towards it, press the ‘jump’ key, and your character will jump over it. This is great when you want to run for cover, exit through a window, or access some locations quickly.

In the earlier version of the game, the movement of the character was not as sophisticated. Instead, you were supposed to use crouch jumping. This meant running towards a higher object and pressing the ‘jump’ and ‘crouch’ keys at the same time. Your character would jump higher and be able to reach some higher zones or exit through the window.

When the game implemented the vaulting feature, crouch jumping was considered outdated. Almost everybody felt vaulting was better and more realistic. As a PC player, you could have continued to crouch jump until the option was officially removed in 2018. But, what about unofficial ways?

How to Crouch Jump

There are still ways to perform this technique. A user on Reddit posted a guide explaining this new technique. If you want to bring back the crouch jump, you will have to tweak your settings.

1. Go to the System Menu.
2. Click on Settings.
3. Dedicate a key to ‘Jump Only’ option. This is important because, otherwise, vaulting will interfere with crouch jumping.

These options will enable crouch jumping.

While you are in the game and want to perform a crouch jump, you have to master this combination:

1. Hold ‘Sprint’ until you reach the window.
2. Press the ‘Jump only’ button and the ‘Crouch’ button.
3. Keep sprinting.

When you want to jump out of the window, you need to continue your sprint. Otherwise, you will stay crouching on the window sill, which is also a nice technique to know.

Crouch jumping is difficult to master so you will need some time to get used to this trick.

Why Is Crouch Jumping Better Than Vaulting?

When you vault, the game will initiate an animation sequence that you can’t cancel. This makes your game more predictable. Even if the smoother animation makes vaulting look more fluent, you lose control for a second. When you crouch jump, you can change direction or stop the action.

When you perform a crouch, jump more of your body is covered from potential hits. Your head will also be more protected and will leave the danger zone more quickly. Since the head is the most vulnerable in-game body part, any extra protection can make a difference.

You also land further than when you’re vaulting. If there is another object that you have to jump over again after you vault, you lose valuable seconds and risk getting hit. With crouch jumping, you can jump over this object.

Cons of Crouch Jumping

Vaulting is an official part of the game, so sometimes that’s the only way that you can reach certain areas. The new version of the game optimizes its environment so that you can perform vaulting easier. This means that it’s now more difficult to crouch jump over higher obstacles than to vault over them.

Also, crouch jumping requires enough space to be successful. You need to have enough momentum for a sprint, so if you are in a tight or crowded area, you will be unable to do it. When you’re vaulting, you can overcome this with just one key while standing in place.

Should You Use Crouch Jumping?

Crouch jumping is difficult to master and is sometimes even considered cheating. It can bring an edge of competitiveness and skill because not everybody can do it perfectly. If you enjoy the chaos, shoot-outs, and neat runaways, you will enjoy this skill.

Player Unknown Battlegrounds

Player Unknown Battlegrounds is an online shooter that epitomizes Battle Royale. You are dropped onto a map with 99 other players and have to find weapons and items and make your way across the map trying to survive as you go. It’s a free-for-all where only the strongest survive and where you have to be fast and know the maps to win.

If surviving against other players wasn’t demanding enough, the map is surrounded by a circle that gradually shrinks as each match progresses. You have to stay within the circle otherwise you are removed from the match. As the circle shrinks, the battles become more intense as surviving players are herded into an ever-shrinking play area. The last player standing wins the game.

Along with Fortnite, Player Unknown Battlegrounds is the undisputed king of Battle Royale. Until now. New upstart Apex Legends has just been released and I predict it will outperform both Fortnite and PUBG. It is better on every level than those two games. It is polished, the map is superb, character choice has something for everyone and it is team based rather than solo. Teams of three players group up to support each other across the map. It’s the same Battle Royal gameplay with scavenging and survival at its core. It is less cartoony and juvenile than Fortnite and more fun than PUBG. You heard it here first!

Player Unknown Battlegrounds and Fortnite have quite the head start, with the latter being a cash cow for Epic, the publisher. However, I think the quality and mass appeal of Apex Legends, plus the polished game and gameplay will allow it to overtake the two incumbents within the year.

Changing location in Player Unknown Battlegrounds

Back to the matter at hand. Can you change location in Player Unknown Battlegrounds? In a game where speed is key, having a low ping is essential. If you’re a sociable player, having a server of players who speak your own language is also useful. As PUBG has regionalized servers, you would think you would automatically be assigned your closest server. That isn’t always the case.

Neither can you change your location in Player Unknown Battlegrounds. You currently have no choice whatsoever in what server you play on, or in what region. This can be incredibly frustrating if you’re in the US and are assigned an Asian or Oceanic server. Not only does your ping suffer as a result but if you’re assigned an Asian server and don’t speak the language, you’re completely isolated.

There was a bug for a while last year that defaulted many US players to Asian servers. That bug was (mostly) fixed and began allocating us to NA servers but you will occasionally find yourself not understanding a word people are saying, which can be a good thing, but also suffering high ping. It is this latter that can make or break a game.

Currently, your only option is to pull out of the current game. While the original bug has been fixed, the PUBG global server allocation system is still not perfect. There have been calls for a region lock system for a long time and the people behind Player Unknown Battlegrounds have still yet to introduce one.

If you have a high ping in PUBG that isn’t your fault, you can battle on and hope others are suffering the same or you need to abandon the game and go back to the lobby. There is currently no way to manually select a region in PUBG as yet. That may change of course, but not for a while.

You cannot even use a VPN to force a different region as the VPN also comes with its own ping overhead. For now at least, you have to manually manage high ping or Asian server allocation and all the challenges that come with it.

Being able to navigate the map and move around obstacles is a key component of surviving in PUBG. The faster you can get out of the open and into cover or the faster you can assault a building, the better your chances of survival. That’s why I put together this guide showing you how to jump through windows and vault in PUBG together.

As a relative newcomer to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, I have watched hundred of videos and Twitch streams to try to get to grips with this deceptively simple yet frustratingly difficult game. I am putting everything I have learned into this so you have an easier time of it than I did.

Apparently, earlier versions of PUBG allowed you to keybind some of the more difficult maneuvers like crouch jumping. That isn’t possible now. Instead, you have to master the commands yourself and practice whenever you can. Alongside weaving when running, these jumping techniques can make a serious difference to how long you survive in this game.

How to jump through windows in PUBG

Jumping through windows does take some practice. Even after watching a dozen or so videos showing how it’s done, it took me lots of games to get it down. Now I can do it all the time it makes a big difference to how I can play in built up areas.

The first thing to know is that you cannot jump through all windows in PUBG. You can only jump through larger rectangle windows. You cannot jump or climb through smaller ones and some are just too high. So first thing to learn is what windows you can and cannot jump through.

Then:

1. Line yourself up with the window as square on as you can.
2. Take a few steps back and run towards the window.
3. Hit jump and crouch (C and Space keys) at the same time when you get close enough to be able to jump through the window.

Knowing how close to get before hitting jump and crouch takes some practice but I would say it is only a game foot or two in front of the window before you jump. Jump too far away and you will hit the wall or land on the ledge. Too close and you jump over the opening.

How to vault in PUBG

Vaulting is an essential survival skill in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Let’s say a sniper just misses you. You turn and run and see a wall in front of you. You can run around it and leave yourself exposed for longer or you can vault over it and get into cover. The wall is effective cover from all bullets and gives you time to recover and either bug out or fire back.

Here’s how to vault:

1. Run towards the wall.
2. Hit jump (Space on PC) when you get close to it. Around a game foot or two.
3. Hold down jump until you are over the object.

Vaulting is also useful when you don’t want to waste time walking or running around a long wall or obstruction.

You can only vault objects around 1.5x your height. You cannot vault vehicles and there needs to be an edge to the object being vaulted for you to be able to grab and complete the move. There also needs to be enough room to stand on top of the object you vault.

How to crouch jump in PUBG

Crouch jumping is a useful trick used in many shooters and while annoying when someone else is doing it, can be very useful for staying alive. If you’re trapped in a building for example, you can crouch jump out of a window keeping your exposure to a minimum. It is definitely something worth mastering but it is another aspect of the game that demands patience.

To crouch jump, press the C and Space keys at the same time. You will see your character perform a little jump that you can use to leap out of windows or overcome smaller obstacles. Make sure to press both keys at once in order to get this maneuver down.

Couch jump has changed a bit in PUBG. There were rumors that it would be removed but instead, the keybind was removed and the ability remained. That may change in upcoming patches. There is also supposed to be a new climbing mechanic coming soon too which could make things very interesting!
