The Forest Tapes is an item you can get in one of the Endings of the Freaky Feature of Found Footage mystery in World of Horror. The Forest Tapes will be “seemingly broken,” but the item’s description suggests you might be able to find a way to repair them.

How to Repair The Forest Tapes

There is currently nothing you can do to fix The Forest Tapes in World of Horror. The Trinket-type item has yet to serve a purpose in-game, even though the item description says you might be able to find a way to repair it.

According to the World of Horror dev @panstasz on X, the Tapes will eventually be used in a future game mode called Scenario Mode, which focuses on the missing crew found in each of the Tapes.

For now, you’ll just have to collect all the Tapes and wait until the devs add additional content that allows you to use the Tapes in World of Horror.

How many tapes are there in The Forest?

You can collect a total of six Tapes in The Forest. The Tapes contain clips featuring a girl named Megan, an unknown facility in the mountains, and the experiments that scientists are conducting at the facility. The last few tapes also show Armsy – a Creepy Mutant found in caves early in the game.

Below is a list of all six Forest Tapes in World of Horror:

• Megan’s Arrival – a clip showing a young girl on a helicopter that’s approaching a large man-made structure.
• Lunch with Megan – a clip showing a brief look at a cafeteria and the same girl in Megan’s Arrival in a wheelchair.
• Opening the Artifact – a short clip showing men surrounding a spiky Artifact.
• Side Effects – a clip showing doctors observing a child shaking violently.
• Armsy Breakout – a clip showing an Armsy breaking out of a glass room, attacking the men in the room, and knocking Megan off her wheelchair.
• Second Artifact Test – a clip showing scientists observing the Artifact’s EMP.

The Forest Tapes are a reward for completing the Freaky Feature of Found Footage mystery in The Forest.

What are the devs’ plans for The Tapes in World of Horror?

World of Horror dev Panstasz confirmed via the World of Horror Discord channel the arrival of a future update that will finally give the Forest Tapes use in-game.

According to Panstasz, you’ll get Tapes depending on the outcome you unlock through Scenario Mode. The Tapes are supposed to give you passive bonuses as you control the missing TV crew through the forest.

For now, The Tapes serve no purpose in The Forest, as there is no way to repair or use them in-game. You’ll have to wait until the devs add Scenario Mode to reap the bonuses provided by the Tapes.

Conclusion

As of the current patch, you still cannot use or repair the Forest Tapes in World of Horror. It’s not all bad news, however, as the game’s dev, Panstasz, already announced the development of Scenario Mode. This will finally give the Forest Tapes a purpose in World of Horror. It is unknown when the update will arrive. For now, you’ll have to collect all the Forest Tapes by completing the Freaky Feature of Found Footage mystery.

Zen is an original hero in the game and has been on the character roster since the first Overwatch. He’s considered one of the game’s most solid support heroes, not because he’s great at healing. Some have said that Zen is a DPS character in disguise.

Overwatch 2 Zenyatta Basic Breakdown

Zenyatta doesn’t have the most dramatic backstory among the characters in the game. Still, he does represent the good side of the omnic race, being a member of the Shambali Monastery, a group of omnics advocating peace and free will.

He has a history of being Genji’s mentor in the game—which is apparent in their interactions, and he also has beef with Ramattra in the same vein as the rivalry between Professor X and Magneto in X-Men.

For Zen’s kit, he has an Orb of Harmony, which he uses to heal his teammates one at a time; an Orb of Discord, which he can cast on enemies and add the damage they receive by 25%; and his ultimate, Transendence, turns Zen invulnerable for six seconds, in which time he can move a lot faster and quickly heal his allies at 300 health per second.

Zen is not the most mobile support hero, but he does make up for it with his ability to deal heavy damage. His health is also mostly shielded, so if you get damaged playing him, you simply have to hide somewhere. Then, wait a little bit, and his health will replenish automatically.

Always have Harmony and Discord Out

Like every other character in the roster, it’s essential to make the best of their abilities. Pros suggest that Zen should always have his orbs of Harmony and Discord out.

While you don’t need to aim with both abilities, they do need to be in his sight line to work. However, that doesn’t mean that Zen has to be looking at the orb. He just has to be visible to it. The ball will return if Zen is removed from the line of sight. It will take 3 seconds for Harmony and 1.5 seconds for Discord.

It’s important to know what removes the orbs and always has them cast on someone in the game.

Partner with a ‘Main’ Healer

For his ‘Peace and Tranquility’ schtick, Zen is not the fastest healer of the support bunch, and that’s why they balanced him out by giving him very good damage. When picking Zen, ensure that the team has a ‘main’ healer who is most effective at healing; your job will then have to pick up their slack.

As a support healer, prioritize teammates harder to target for the main healer, usually very mobile heroes like Genji and Tracer or a flyer like Pharah, who can be hard to reach with the heights she can access.

Use Your Kick

While melee abilities are usually afterthoughts for a character’s main kit in Overwatch 2, Zenyatta has a very effective kick for his melee. Not only does it deal great damage, but it also has good knockback.

Whenever a DPS corners you, you can push them back with a swift kick and buy some time to escape or for help to arrive.

Use Alternate Fire Wisely

Though Zen can deal great damage with his primary attack, his secondary attack gathers the damage of five orbs and deals them out quickly. Zen also has a huge hitbox, so the secondary fire is very effective against faraway enemies and can have Zen take out snipers like Widowmaker or Hanzo.

Admittedly, the charge-up is too slow that quick enemies can easily stop you. Make sure to charge while out of sight first before coming out to fire your shot. You can cancel the charge by doing a melee kick if it’s too late.

“Pass Through The Iris”

Zen’s Transcendence ultimate is best used for blocking other ultimates like Soldier’s Tactical Visor or Genji’s Dragonblade—anything that doesn’t do a great burst of damage. You can also use his invulnerability to block other attacks for a while.

Take note, this only lasts for six seconds, so some pros advise that you spend the first half of the ultimate saving your team and the latter half retreating to the back to save yourself from enemy fire.

In recent years Discord streaming has become a thing, and you can easily preview what others are streaming.

However, while this is a great future to check out if what is being streamed is something that you like, if you are a regular streamer, you might want to disable this so that people don’t pry or poke around without you knowing.

How to Hide Stream Preview – Discord 2023

While officially, there isn’t a feature you can use to do so, with some tinkering, you can hide your stream preview, and everyone curious about your stream will have to join the channel to see what is being displayed.

While making the channel private will give you a bit of privacy, as only those in the channel can see the stream preview, it is still not enough. What you have to do before we get into how you can hide your preview is to download and install OBS if you haven’t got it.

After you have installed OBS, follow these steps to hide your stream preview on Discord in 2023:

1. Open up OBS. At sources, click the plus to add a source.
   
2. Select display capture or window capture.
   
3. Also, select the right display and resolution. Click OK.
   
4. Then, you only need to click Start Virtual Camera in the Controls section.

That concludes what you need to do in the OBS application. After that, you will need to change a few settings inside Discord:

1. Navigate to your Settings.
2. Open up Voice & Video.
3. For Camera, select OBS Virtual Camera.

4. Close your settings.

With this method, when you share your video instead of your screen on Discord, your stream will be streamed instead of your face from the camera, as this is a feature to stream video from your webcam.

While this will not say LIVE next to your account, it will show a video icon as if you were streaming from your webcam. For video from a webcam, there is no preview function.

Also, even though your screen might appear inverted on your screen, that won’t be the case for the others in the channel!

How to Upgrade the Nail

To upgrade the Nail, the Knight must head to the Nailsmith and give him the necessary items to start the process.

Nailsmith

The Nailsmith in Hallownest is a strong survivor, enduring the downfall of Hallownest and the changing world while remaining stubbornly dedicated to his craft. He sharpens his skills with fierce determination, driven by a single goal: to make his greatest masterpiece, a Pure Nail. Everything around his small home is littered with nails, concrete evidence of his mastery and the enormous time he has spent honing his craft.

The Nailsmith, located in an isolated hut on the southwestern corner of the City of Tears, welcomes weary explorers in pursuit of increased power. Initially, he offers the Knight his skills to refine the Old Nail into the Sharpened Nail for a small fee of Geo. However, when players seek to improve their weapons, the Nailsmith’s requirements increase. Each consecutive upgrade necessitates both Pale Ore and a larger amount of Geo.

The Nailsmith will improve the Knight’s Nail four times in total. The following are the Nail upgrades available to the Knight and the number of Geos and Pale Ores required for the Nailsmith to begin the process:

Geos are easy to find as enemies drop Geo when they are defeated. The only item needed now is Pale Ores.

Pale Ore

Pale Ores in Hollow Knight are rare and valuable minerals relevant to the game’s lore and mechanics. These items possess a pale look and emit an icy chill.

According to game lore, pale Ores are supposed to have been utilized to manufacture strong weapons and artifacts. The Knight will discover the dispersed remains of these Pale Ores as they proceed through the game, buried away in hazardous corners of the kingdom of Hallownest.

There are six Pale Ores that can be found all over Hallownest. Without going into too much detail, the following are the locations of the Pale Ores in Hallownest:

Pale Ore #1

A Pale Ore is west of the Tram Station in the northwestern part of the Ancient Basin. The Knight will face fewer Mawleks, Shadow Creepers, Belflies, and Aspid Hunters in this Pale Ore’s general vicinity.

There aren’t any spells required to find this Pale Ore. But to reach the Pale Ore, the Knight must first have the Mantis Claw ability. This ability allows the Knight to cling to walls and jump off them.

Pale Ore #2

A different Pale Ore may be discovered at the top of Crystal Peak called the Hallownest’s Crown. The Pale Ore can be discovered in the base of the Radiance statue.

The Knight does not have to defeat any bosses to get this Pale Ore. However, the Knight will encounter the following enemies: a Husk Miner, Crystallized Husks, Crystal Hunters, Shardmites, and a Glimback.

The Knight must use some abilities to get to this Pale Ore. One is the Monarch Wings ability, which allows the Knight to make a second jump in mid-air. Another is the Mantis Claw ability, which allows the Knight to cling to walls and jump off them.

Finally, the Knight must have the Crystal Heart ability, which allows the Knight to dash indefinitely unless the Knight hits a surface, receives damage, or cancels the ability purposely. Aside from that, the Knight must have purchased the Lumafly Lantern, which aids in illuminating dark rooms.

Pale Ore #3

The Knight can find another Pale Ore behind a breakable wall near a hot spring after a series of hidden passageways in Deepnest’s southeastern corner. However, before the Knight may obtain this Pale Ore, the Knight must first eliminate the nearby Nosk.

Nosk is a frightening and intriguing hidden boss in Hollow Knight. It appears as a shape-shifting spider-like creature capable of taking on the appearance of loved ones or familiar faces to entice unsuspecting prey. Nosk’s origins are unknown, with the beast lurking deep within the damp bowels of the Deepnest. Meeting Nosk in Hollow Knight is a terrifying and intimidating event that tests the player’s resilience and resourcefulness.

Before the Knight reaches Nosk and gets Pale Ore, the Knight must learn a few abilities. The first is the Mothwing Cloak ability, which gives the Knight the ability to dash forwards horizontally. The next ability is the Mantis Claw ability, which allows the Knight to cling to walls and jump off them.

Finally, the Knight must have the Monarch Wings ability, which gives the Knight the ability to jump again in mid-air. The Lumafly Lantern, which can be bought from Sly in Dirtmouth, is also required for the area. This item will aid in illuminating pitch-black rooms.

Although not required, it is advised that the Knight also has the Shade Cloak ability (the upgrade to the Mothwing Cloak ability). This is because this ability allows the Knight to dash through enemies. The Knight can use this ability to dash through Nosk’s attacks.

Combined with the Sharp Shadow Charm, this ability would make an excellent combination. The Sharp Shadow charm allows the Knight to deal damage while utilizing the Shade Cloak ability to dash through foes.

Pale Ore #4

Little Fool will reward the Knight with a Pale Ore after completing the second Trial, the Trial of the Conqueror, in the Colosseum of Fools. This challenge is at the very top of Kingdom’s Edge.

The Colosseum of Fools is where challengers can participate in difficult Trials. The Colosseum itself is constructed from the hollowed-out remnants of an enormous bug. Strong chains support this bug’s massive shell. 

To reach the Colosseum of Fools, the Knight must first have Isma’s Tear ability. This ability allows the Knight to swim safely in pools of acid. It is also recommended that the Knight has the Monarch Wings ability. This ability enables the Knight to jump mid-air again. En route to the Colosseum, the Knight will encounter Booflies, Primal Aspids, Belflies, and Hoppers.

Challengers can put their battling abilities to the test against constant waves of enemies during the Trails. The Colosseum offers three Trials:  the Trial of the Warrior, the Trial of the Conqueror, and the Trial of the Fool.

Trial of the Conqueror

The Trial of the Conqueror is the second Trial that the Knight can take on, and it is more difficult than the previous Trial. To attempt this Trial, the Knight must first beat the Trial of the Warrior. Then, the Knight can talk to Little Fool and pay Little Fool 450 Geo to take on the Trial of the Conqueror.

In addition to a Pale Ore, finishing the Trial of the Warrior for the first time grants the Knight 2000 to 2020 Geo and unlocks the Conqueror achievement. The Knight will only be rewarded 2000 to 2020 Geo in future victories of the Trial of the Conqueror.

There are parts of this Trial where the Knight cannot stand on the ground. So, before starting this Trial, the Knight must first have the Mantis Claw ability. This ability allows the Knight to cling to walls and jump off them. Additionally, although not required, the Shade Cloak ability can assist the Knight in dodging enemies. This ability allows the Knight to dash through foes and attacks.

Remember to heal at least one mask between waves when taking on the Trial. This is where the Quick Focus Charm comes in handy. Furthermore, Nail Arts are useful in the Colosseum of Fools Trials. They can take out enemies in the Trial’s floorless waves.

Pale Ore #5

The Grubfather will reward the Knight with a Pale Ore after the Knight successfully frees 31 Grubs from glass jars all over Hallownest. This NPC can be found in the Grubhome in the northwesternmost part of the Forgotten Crossroads.

To access the Grubhome, no abilities or spells are necessary. The Knight will encounter enemies such as Crawlids, a Tiktiik, and Gruzzers along the route.

All over Hallownest, the Knight will find tiny green creatures trapped within glass jars known as Grubs. When a Grub is in the Knight’s proximity, the Knight can hear high-pitched weeping even if it isn’t visible on screen. This sound can be an excellent auditory indicator that a Grub is around. Once found, the Knight can use the Nail to smash the glass container and free the Grub. 

The Knight will discover a total of 46 Grubs scattered around Hallownest. The Grubfather will then give the Knight rewards for freeing several Grubs. Among the rewards are Geos, a Mask Shard, the Grubsong Charm, a Rancid Egg, a Hallownest Seal, a Pale Ore, a King’s Idol, and the Grubberfly’s Elegy Charm.

Pale Ore #6

The Seer will reward the Knight a Pale Ore once the Knight has accumulated 300 Essence using the Dream Nail.

Essence is the energy gathered from various sources when utilizing the Dream Nail ability. The Knight can obtain Essence from Spirits, Whispering Roots, Warrior Dreams, and Dream Bosses. Regular foes have a chance to drop Essence as well. 

Warrior Dreams and Dream Bosses are the quickest way to gather a lot of Essence at once. This is because eliminating a Warrior Dream will grant the Knight at least 100 Essence (depending on the specific Warrior Dream since some will grant 150, 200, or 250 Essence), and defeating a Dream Boss will grant the Knight 300 Essence (except for Lost Kin, which grants 400 Essence).

The seer will reward the Knight items for accumulating a certain number of Essence. Among these rewards are a Hallownest Seal, a Spirits’ Glade opened, a Pale Ore, the Dream Wielder Charm, a Vessel Fragment, the Dreamgate, an Arcane Egg, a Mask Shard, the Dream Nail is awoken, the Awakening achievement, and the Ascension Achievement.

As previously stated, to receive Pale Ore from Seer, the Knight must collect 300 Essence from all across Hallownest.

The mixamp / audio controller

A straightforward but expensive solution, a mix amp or audio controller lets you combine PC and console sounds. It allows the PC and console audio to have only one input or output device. Because mixamp / audio controllers were made to allow multiple systems to integrate sounds, it does this job well.

Professional gamers and streamers consider them essential if you play on consoles, as the audio quality is superb. With the console and the PC audio essentially connected, you can open the Discord app on your computer while gaming on your PS4.

As mentioned, this is a relatively expensive option. Even a low-end mix amp can cost up to $100 or more. This is fine if you happen to play a lot, but the price may prove off-putting for casual gamers.

Plugging controller to PC line in

A similar but cheaper solution is to use auxiliary cables to connect the PS4 controller to the PC. It may surprise some that the wireless PS4 controller has a headphone jack underneath. What is Discord?

Discord is a text and audio-chat-based communications tool allowing users to communicate. One of its strong points is that it integrates well with many online games. Being able to voice chat with other players in the community is more convenient and immersive than typing on a keyboard.

What is FiveM?

FiveM is a server modification tool for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto Five. It enables users to create private servers for the game’s online multiplayer mode. Although GTA V has official servers that host millions of players, some want to play the game by their own rules. FiveM gives these players that capability.

Connecting Discord to FiveM

Install GTA V.

Purchase the game either through a local physical store or digitally through Steam or the Epic Game Store. FiveM will not function unless you have installed an authentic game copy and requires that you assign the directory where your GTA V game files are located. Once you have a copy, install the game.

Create a Rockstar Social Club Account.

To play GTA V Online, you must also be a Rockstar Social Club member. Usually, if you install a title from Rockstar Games, you will be prompted to create a Social Club account. If this is the first time you have bought a Rockstar game or have skipped creating one in the past, do so now. You can proceed to The Rockstar Social Club webpage to make an account.

Do note that verification emails from Rockstar tend to take a while to arrive. Just ensure you entered the correct email address and check your spam folder. You can also click the resend verification button if it takes too long to arrive.

Go to the Discord website and proceed to the Download page. Click on the link and follow the instructions to install the app. You do not need the same email address in Discord as you used to create your Social Club.

You will also need to verify your email to authenticate your account. Discord will run without authentication, but some advanced features will not be available to an unverified account.  

Installing FiveM

Proceed to the FiveM website. On the front page, click the Download Client button. When you see the prompt, click Accept. Once it is finished, open the application and click Run. Choose Yes when a prompt appears, then wait for the installation to finish.

A window will open, asking you to enter your Rockstar Social Club account details. After doing so, GTA V will automatically launch.

Finally, link FiveM to Discord.

If your Discord client opens during the last step, you will be prompted to link the two. If not, open your Discord app now and restart FiveM. Once the prompt appears, click yes, and you will be sent to the FiveM main menu.

Play the game.

You can now choose a server and play the game. Remember that each server has different rules, and breaking them may get you kicked out. You can set up your servers if you want, and FiveM allows players to do so for free as long as you have 32 or fewer players per server. FiveM will require a fee of $15 for up to 64 or $50 for 128 players.

Turning on Discord Overlay in Game

While playing, you can turn on the Discord Overlay to access Discord’s multiple functions. The default button for this is Shift + ` and can be changed by opening your User Settings in Discord and clicking the Overlay menu under App Settings.

If the Discord Overlay is not showing up in the game, even if you press the hotkeys, the overlay may be disabled. To check this, go to User Settings and click on the Game Activity tab under App Settings. A red computer icon with a crossed line means the overlay is disabled. Clicking this will enable it.
